SIMON HARSENT – MELT
Beginning with the massive icebergs as they enter Greenland’s Disco Bay from the Ilulissat Icefjord; and ending with the icebergs off the East Coast of Newfoundland. Harsent presents the life of an iceberg, by which time they have traveled hundreds of miles. They have been battered and broken down, little more than ghosts of what they once were. Harsent captures the initial overpowering grandeur into their deterioration of being absorbed back into the flux from which they came. A beautiful, yet humbling metamorphosis that endows them with a life span, each with it’s own personality, each with it’s own story.
