SOONHOE
SoonHoe is a Melbourne-based contemporary artist using photography as a medium of artistic expression. He uses both film and digital formats. His emphasis is on in-camera techniques to create an artwork that is less like a conventional photograph and more akin to a sketch or painting.
His Invoke/Momentum series sees him using his film and digital photographic tools to create black&white “paintings”. Travelling more than a dozen times to islands in tropical Malaysia, this series was borne out of patiently waiting for the right conditions in an ever-changing dynamic seascape.
